General FAQs

What is your guarantee?
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee with all packages if you are not satisfied for any reason.

Do I need any special software to use MailMine email?
No. To use our Webmail access, no special software is required and you can access your email from any computer with a browser and an internet connection. To access your email POP or IMAP access, an email program such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird is required. Mozilla Thunderbird may be downloaded for free at
www.Mozilla.com.

Do I need to change my ISP to use MailMine email?
No. Our email system will work with any internet service provider. And better yet, if you move or change your ISP in the future, you can keep your MailMine email address.

How much storage do I need? How much is 500MB? 1.0GB? 2.0GB?
Our
How Much Storage Do I Need? page will help you determine your requirements based on your usage.

I don’t want a personalized domain – Do you have “regular” domains, too?
Sure. Our “Miscellaneous” domains lists MailMine.net as an option.

What characters can I use in the username?
A-Z, a-z, 0-9, + dashes, periods, and underscores.

Other restrictions: Usernames cannot begin or end with a dash, a period, or an underscore and must contain more than one character.

Unlike many email service providers, MailMine usernames can be all digits, so you can use your two-digit jersey number or the jersey of your favorite player. (please note: two-character usernames are an additional $1 per month.

Are email addresses case-sensitive?
No. An email addressed to BobSmith@GlobalTelemax.net would be routed the same as one addressed to bobsmith@globaltelemax.net or to bObsMiTh@gloBAltelemAX.net.

Will you sell my email address to advertisers or spammers?
Never. We’re in the email business, not the advertising business.

How can I be receiving spam if you didn’t sell my email address?
There are many ways spammers may find your email address, and almost every email address will receive at least some spam.

You say you don’t scan messages for content for advertising purposes – Do other companies really do that?
It has become a fairly common practice, especially among email providers that offer free services wish to subsidize the costs of offering those. We encourage all email users to ask their email provider if they can promise them that their email messages are not being scanned for advertising purposes.

Technical Support & Software FAQs

Many technical questions may be answered by reviewing the setup guides and user manuals in our Document Library.

How do I login to Webmail?
To access your account via Webmail, you may click on the Login button on our home page. This will take you to
https://mail.mailmine.net/, our secure login page. You may also bookmark this page or enter it directly. You will be asked to enter your email address and your password.

How do I login using POP3 and IMAP?
See the
Setup Guide for your email program (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc) and follow the instructions provided to configure your settings. You will use the server information below.

What are the MailMine mail servers?
Below are the server names and ports for your email account. To use a secure connection, use the settings marked with SSL.

Server TypeServer NamePort
POP3pop.emailsrvr.com110
IMAPimap.emailsrvr.com143
SMTPsmtp.emailsrvr.com25 or 587
POP3 with SSLsecure.emailsrvr.com995
IMAP with SSLsecure.emailsrvr.com993
SMTP with SSLsecure.emailsrvr.com465 or 587

Note: Outgoing servers require authentication. Outlook users will need to manually enable this feature. Follow the Setup Guides, below, to configure your account.

What is the size limit for attachments?
We have an extremely generous limit of 35 MB. This translates to about 25 MB of original attachments before the encoding process (MIME) adds its overhead. Please be aware that your ISP may have a much lower size limit (see below).

Why is my large attachment failing to send (or arrive)?
The other links in the system, such as your ISP, may have size limits that are less than the 35 MB that we allow.

Which email software packages can I use for POP3 or IMAP4?
Any popular email program, often called “email client software”, will work. Two of the most popular are Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird. Thunderbird may be downloaded for free at
www.Mozilla.com.

What is Webmail?
Please see
Email Basics

What are POP3 and IMAP4 and SMTP?
Please see
Email Basics

I like using Webmail. Do I need to switch to POP3 or IMAP4?
No, there is no need to switch. If you’re comfortable with Webmail (browser) access and have no interest in the extra features offered by email software access (which use the POP3 or IMAP4 protocols), feel free to use only webmail. We recommend using whatever makes you comfortable.

I want to use email software. Should I use POP3 or IMAP4 access?
In general, POP3 meets most users’ needs. IMAP4 is best for sophisticated users that frequently use more than one computer, such as a desktop and a laptop, and need email access from either computer but don’t want to use Webmail access. For a more detailed discussion of the pros and cons of POP3 and IMAP4, please see
Email Basics.

How do I configure my email software?
Please see our
Document Library for the setup guide to many popular email packages. They will provide step-by-step instructions for configuring your software.
